Be a part of Fort Collins History: Help us recognize notable women in our community!

Living Her Legacy is excited to create the first Historic Women's Public Art Exhibit in Old Town Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. This was initiated as a project in our Zonta Club of Fort Collins and we have submitted our 1023 application to the IRS and are now an approved 501c3 nonprofit.
This art/education exhibit, a 7 year labor of love, will recognize women with ties to Fort Collins who have contributed to the fabric of our
community. The exhibit will recognize 48 women total over the course of three years. We are Recognizing women's accomplishments to
inspire girls futures. Join our movement today to inspire girls futures.
This art/education exhibit concept was initiated by Patti Smith, RN a member of Zonta when she visited the Denver Convention Center in 2013.
The portraits concept has been created by local artist Rachael Davis, MFA, CSU who is our Art Director/Portrait artist and will provide the
community with educational and historic value. We have an additional artist who has joined our team in 2017: Trish Murtha.
Our project includes creating curriculum from elementary to college level courses to deepen students' understanding of these women who
have made a difference in our community and their personal journeys. We will also provide 5th grade girl role model/mentor art workshops
for Title I elementary schools and success for teens curriculum for under served populations of teen-aged girls, teen moms 16-19 years and
for our community at large.
The purpose of this art/education exhibit is to educate our community about the contributions of women and girls impact in our community.
We also are sharing our Legacy Honorees impact to inspire women and girls in their own innate potential and possibility as they learn from
these courageous women. The art/education exhibit will benefit the community greatly by adding to Fort Collins' identity as a cultural center
and tourist destination.
